When mainstream cinema frequently chases generic urban gloss, grounded films shot entirely in real native landscapes carry a raw, visceral punch that stays with audiences. Poised to offer that authentic rural experience this Gandhi Jayanti is Anakapalli, a gritty drama headlined by Vikram Sahidev, Sandhya Vasishta, and menacing antagonist Tarak Ponnappa.
Jointly produced by Kandregeula Naidu and hitmaker Thrinadha Rao Nakkina (who also penned the story-screenplay and plays a key role on screen) under Bhavya Sri Movie Makers and Nakkina Narratives, the film is directed by Khagesh Tammineni.
Ahead of its worldwide theatrical release on October 2, 2026 (distributed by top production house Mythri Movie Distributors), the team held an electric pre-release event in Hyderabad on Sunday evening, drawing heavyweight directors and producers including V.V. Vinayak, Shiva Nirvana, Mythri Ravi Shankar, Sai Rajesh, and R.P. Patnaik.
