Mentorship, Loyalty & True Indie Grit: Mass Ka Das Vishwak Sen Pledges to Buy 1,000 First-Day Tickets for Former AD’s Passion Project Kagitampadavalu!

In an industry often perceived as transactional, genuine loyalty and grassroots camaraderie stand out. ‘Mass Ka Das’ Vishwak Sen demonstrated this spirit in full measure at the pre-release gala of Kagitampadavalu, an upcoming raw and rustic romance directed by his former assistant director, MGR Tukaram.

Featuring newcomers Vardhan and Krishnapriya in the lead roles, the film is jointly produced by Keerthana Naresh, T.R. Prasad Reddy, Venkatrajula, and Gayathramma Anjanappa under the banners of SLN Cine Creations, Pranadhi Creations, and Nava Narayana Cine Creations.

Having generated positive digital buzz with its teaser and trailer, the emotional drama is slated for a theatrical release on September 18, 2026, backed by premier distributor Asian Suresh Entertainment.

"He Said His Favorite Film Was Osey Ramulamma": Vishwak Sen Recalls Tukaram’s Audition

Taking the stage to roaring applause, Vishwak Sen shared a candid, nostalgic look back at how his association with director Tukaram began during the casting of his directorial milestone Falaknuma Das:

*"When I put out a casting call for assistant directors on 'Falaknuma Das', Tukaram walked in. I asked him what his favorite film was, expecting him to name an international classic or a flashy commercial hit. Instead, he looked at me and said, 'Osey Ramulamma.' I had never heard an aspiring young AD give that answer—it showed his raw, rooted mindset.

He worked diligently with me, and the moment I realized he was itching to tell his own stories as a director, I encouraged him to step out and chase his dream. From that day to this very evening, our bond has remained intact. Whenever I launch a teaser or trailer for any of my films, the very first phone call I receive is from Tukaram.

He is stubborn, relentless, and fiercely passionate. Even the raw design of the title 'Kagitampadavalu' reveals his grit. Making an independent film and bringing it to theatres is a battlefield, and it takes passionate producers to stand behind a new voice. As my small token of solidarity for this hardworking crew, I will buy 1,000 tickets on Day One and distribute them to audiences. Teams like this deserve to win."*

A Gratitude-Filled Evening: Cast & Crew Speak

  • Director MGR Tukaram on Unconditional Mentorship: Fighting back emotions, director Tukaram expressed his gratitude: "Vishwak anna has known me since before the release of 'Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi'. He is a man who stands by the people he trusts through thick and thin. This film was a testing emotional trial. Without producer Naresh garu, Keerthana garu, and my producers, we wouldn't be here today. Our hero Vardhan stood like a rock, and our music—which T-Series acquired—will bring audiences back to theatres for a repeat watch."
  • Hero Vardhan & Heroine Krishnapriya: Lead actor Vardhan acknowledged the immense patience of the producers: "We faced dozens of hurdles along the way, but our producers shielded us and absorbed every pressure. The film connected with me emotionally from day one." Krishnapriya thanked Vishwak Sen for taking time to spotlight a small, sincere film.
  • Lighter Moments with Nanaji: Character artist Nanaji sparked laughter in the hall, recounting his association with Vishwak: "I acted with Vishwak garu in both 'Paagal' and 'Gangs of Godavari'—and he thrashed me in both! Seeing him here today to lift up our team shows his big heart."
  • The Producers' Faith: Producers Keerthana and Anjanappa highlighted that the story has been crafted without artificial compromises, expressing confidence that family and youth audiences will connect with the native, rustic emotions when it hits screens on September 18.
