Tears in the Climax, Pure Rural Roots & Timeless Family Values: Dr. Rajendra Prasad and Suman Elevate the Gala of Pithapuram Lo... Ala Modalaindi!
Amidst a relentless wave of high-octane actioners and concept-heavy thrillers, Telugu cinema’s enduring appetite for heartfelt family dramas is preparing for a welcome treat. Veteran filmmaker Chandra Mahesh (celebrated for his memorable romantic musical Preyasi Raave) returns to the director’s chair with Pithapuram Lo... Ala Modalaindi, a grounded narrative exploring the tender, delicate bond between parents and their children.
Jointly bankrolled by Dundigalla Balakrishna, Akula Suresh Patel, and F.M. Murali (Godari Kittayya) under the banners of Mahesh Chandra Cinema Team and Ever Green Epic Cinema, the film features a heavyweight ensemble fronted by Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Prithviraj, Kedar Shankar, and Manichandana, alongside a spirited roster of rising talent.
With prestigious production and distribution powerhouse Prime Show Entertainment stepping forward to release the film worldwide on September 18, 2026, the makers celebrated a star-studded pre-release event in Hyderabad, where evergreen hero Suman officially unveiled the film’s teaser.
"From Ladies Tailor to Aa Naluguru, It's God’s Grace": Dr. Rajendra Prasad’s Emotional Address
Taking the podium, ‘Natakireeti’ Dr. Rajendra Prasad captivated the gathering with an introspective, deeply passionate reflection on his 49-year cinematic odyssey:
*"In my 49 years in cinema, the greatest blessing God bestowed upon me wasn't fame—it was the extraordinary characters that landed in my lap. Right inside this Prasad Labs Preview Theatre years ago, the legendary K. Viswanath garu watched 'Aa Naluguru', hugged me, and said: 'I kept searching to see if Rajendra Prasad would peek out from behind Raghuram, but I couldn't find you anywhere.' It was C. Narayana Reddy garu who bestowed the title 'Natakireeti' on me, noting that I could make an audience burst into laughter with one eye while shedding tears from the other.
If you were to sit an international actor down in this theatre and screen 'Ladies Tailor' in the morning and 'Aa Naluguru' at dusk, he would be dumbfounded that the same human played both parts. That is the magic of great writers and passionate directors.
When Chandra Mahesh narrated this script, I saw the raw, pulsing depth of my character instantly. He battled numerous personal setbacks and financial challenges to bring this vision to life. This story lives inside every Telugu household across the globe. During the climax sequence, our fellow actors were moved to genuine tears right on the set—that is the emotional honesty we captured. As a senior actor, I fold my hands and plead with the audience: return to the theatres and celebrate good, clean cinema."*
