Speaking at the star-studded song launch event, Vishal became highly emotional while discussing his transition from a mass actor to a technician. He revealed that his deep-rooted desire to helm a film was sparked decades ago by a single cinematic masterpiece.
The RGV & Arjun Inspiration: "Ever since I watched RGV sir's Shiva, I harbored a deep dream of becoming a director. Today, that dream has finally materialized. I deeply miss RB Choudary sir, who trusted me with the massive responsibility of his 99th film. Due to certain unavoidable script-level changes, I had to take over the direction. For the past year, I completely set aside my personal life, pouring my absolute soul into this frame. I have integrated everything I learned from legendary directors like Arjun sir and Ram Gopal Varma over my 35-film career."
Vishal also playfully bantered about music director G.V. Prakash Kumar, joking that the composer took a massive risk by forcing him to sing the first single The Rise of Linga. He praised debutant playback singer Prabha for rendering Nachchaake Vachera beautifully, predicting it to be an instant chartbuster.
Anjali and Ajay Return to Vishal's Universe
Leading lady Anjali expressed immense joy at reuniting with Vishal after their previous collaboration in Madha Gaja Raja. She noted that while Vishal was purely an energetic co-star back then, watching him operate as a meticulous director controlling a massive crew was an inspiring sight. Anjali teased that her character in Makutam is highly powerful, emotionally complex, and stands out as a major pillar of the narrative.
Veteran actor Ajay, who previously clashed with Vishal nearly two decades ago in the mass entertainer Bhayya, stated that he blindly followed Vishal’s directorial cues on set, hinting that the filmmaker has constructed an extraordinary visual treat.
