In a significant move to foster budding talent in the film industry, veteran producer Dil Raju has launched a dedicated platform called DilRaju Dreams. The banner’s maiden project, Markandeya, was officially introduced today in Hyderabad with a grand title glimpse launch. Starring Vikranth (of Santhana Prapthirasthu fame), the film is a high-concept mythological thriller directed by newcomer Sistla VMK.
Producer Dil Raju noted that while his primary banner, SVC, handles star-studded productions, DilRaju Dreams is designed to provide a launching pad for innovative scripts and new-age filmmakers.
A Modern Mythological Marvel
Director Sistla VMK and lead actor Vikranth described the film as an epic story adapted for the contemporary world. Unlike traditional portrayals, this film explores the "immortal" aspect of the legendary character through a modern lens.

Inspired by Epics: Vikranth noted that while Hollywood explores multiverses and superheroes, Indian mythology has housed these concepts for millennia. Markandeya serves as a modern interpretation of these ancient themes.

Dil Raju shared his excitement about the project, highlighting his commitment to the "70% success rate" he has seen with small and mid-range films.
"Vikranth approached me with the content for Markandeya, and I was impressed by his passion and the script's depth," Dil Raju said. "We are guiding this young team on everything from script structure to budget control. This is the first of many; we have 330 scripts in our pipeline and aim to release at least five or six films through this banner this year."
The producer also revealed that the film is eyeing a Maha Shivaratri 2027 release, allowing the team ample time to perfect the extensive CG work.
