A fresh wave of romance is set to hit the silver screen as the team behind the upcoming Telugu film Nilave makes a bold claim: their movie aims to do for the love story genre what the blockbuster KGF did for action. With a focus on raw emotion and a sweeping musical score, the film is positioning itself as a modern classic for Gen Z.
Directed by Sai K. Vennam, who also leads the cast alongside Sowmith Poladi, the film introduces Shreyansi Sen as the female lead. The ensemble is rounded out by Harsha Chemudu and Supriya Aysola. Produced under the POV Arts Productions banner by Raj Allada, Giridhar Rao Poladi, and Vennam himself, the film is scheduled for a Valentine’s Day weekend release on February 13.
A Musical Endorsement from the Best in the Industry
At a high-profile pre-release event in Hyderabad, legendary playback singer Sunitha graced the stage as the guest of honor. Having already screened the film, she offered high praise for its emotional depth and technical finesse.
"In an era where genuine emotion is often lost, Nilave stands out. The photography, direction, and casting are all incredibly apt," Sunitha remarked.
She further noted that the film’s music caught the attention of Oscar-winner M.M. Keeravani, who extended his support after hearing the compositions, creating a significant buzz for the project.
Key Highlights from the Cast and Crew
The team expressed immense confidence in the film’s "content-driven" approach during the event:
-
Sowmith Poladi (Hero): Inspired by Megastar Chiranjeevi, Poladi drew from his roots in Karimnagar for the film's writing. He boldly stated that just as KGF redefined action, Nilave will be a landmark in the romance genre.
-
Shreyansi Sen (Heroine): Attributed her decision to join the project to the "touching dialogues" and the music, stating the film offers a positive, modern perspective on love.
-
Sai K. Vennam (Director): Emphasized that while they are a team of newcomers, their focus has been on high-quality content that speaks for itself.
-
Kalyan Nayak (Music Director): Revealed that the film features 11 songs, all of which are integrated into the narrative to create a "musical love story" of epic proportions.
Industry Expectations
With early premiere screenings receiving positive feedback, producers Raj Allada and Giridhar Rao are optimistic. The industry is already drawing comparisons to cult classics like Sakhi and Ye Maya Chesave, hoping that Nilave captures that same timeless "feel-good" magic.
