Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja’s milestone 75th film, Mass Jathara, is set to raise the bar for Telugu commercial entertainers as it storms into cinemas on October 31. Produced by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya under the banners Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas (with Srikara Studios presenting), the film is the directorial debut of acclaimed writer Bhanu Bhogavarapu, who brings together Ravi Teja, Sreeleela, and Naveen Chandra in a vibrant package of action, humor, and mass appeal.
Railway Police Backdrop & Fresh Storytelling
Director Bhanu Bhogavarapu reveals that Mass Jathara stakes its claim as a “mass entertainer with a difference.” The film is centered on the Railway Police and incorporates a new style of crime thriller, shaped through extensive research into real police duties and everyday dramas. The title itself was suggested by Ravi Teja, who, after hearing the story, said it had all the ingredients of a true mass entertainer. Bhanu then amped up the script’s energy even further to ensure a truly festive theatrical experience.
Powerful Characters & Chartbuster Music
The narrative features Ravi Teja as a cop — but with a distinct flavor unlike his past roles, blending mass moments, nostalgia, and brand-new twists. Sreeleela was chosen for the pivotal role of Tulasi because the script’s emotional depth “only fit her”—showcasing a never-seen-before shade for the actress. The villainous “Shivudu,” played by Naveen Chandra, offers a dramatic makeover that will surprise audiences.
Veteran actor Rajendra Prasad adds family depth and comedy to the ensemble, while composer Bheems Ceciroleo, handpicked after his hit with Ravi Teja in Dhamaka, promises a soundtrack bursting with vibrant dance numbers and mass BGM.
Mass Elements with Heart & Humor
Though known for comedy hits, Bhanu chose to direct a commercial entertainer after requests for a massier story. He consciously ensures Mass Jathara distinctively honors Ravi Teja’s prior iconic police roles but forges its own identity through fresh situations, clever tributes, original humor, and inventive action choreography. The festival-scale production even includes a massive Rs 6-crore set for the climactic railway-station Jathara episode.
Craft, Support, and Production Value
Bhanu credits producer Naga Vamsi and the banner’s unwavering support for not compromising on scale, stunts, or spectacle, which allowed for the grandest realization of his script. The film’s technical brilliance is boosted by DOP Vidhu Ayyanna and editor Navin Nooli.
Audience Promise
With all the core “mass” elements, a fresh police backdrop, electrifying music, and humor, Bhanu asserts that Mass Jathara will “entertain everyone in a uniquely new way—yet with all the heart and heroics you expect from Ravi Teja.” As writer-director, he is already working on his next directorial venture and more scripts.
