The pre-release event for the Kannada film 'Veera Chandrahasa' was held in Hyderabad, with music director and director Ravi Basrur and producers M.V. Radhakrishna and James W. Kommu in attendance. The film, presented by Hombale Films and produced by N. S. Rajkumar, is being released in Telugu by Kanchi Kamakshi Kolkata Kali Creations and SJK Banners. It is set for a grand worldwide release on September 19th.
Ravi Basrur’s Vision
Ravi Basrur, known for his work on hit films like KGF and Salaar, shared his personal connection to the project. He described the film as a rated story that represents the Yakshagana culture and his "12-year dream." He said the film tells the story of every person who goes from nothing to becoming a hero.
"A single film provides employment for about 4,000 people," he said. He aims to direct and produce one film a year to use the money earned from music in a positive way. 'Veera Chandrahasa' is his sixth film. He believes in not forgetting one's roots and has created a new world with this film, which is made with the art of Yakshagana. "This film will help protect our culture," he stated. Basrur also expressed his eternal gratitude to Prashanth Neel for giving him an opportunity with the film Ugram.
Producers Express Confidence
Producer M.V. Radhakrishna noted that 'Veera Chandrahasa' was a blockbuster success in Kannada, completing a 100-day run. He expressed confidence that the film, which is based on the concept of Yakshagana, a part of Indian civilization and culture, will be embraced by the Telugu audience as well.
James W. Kommu said he was proud to share the stage with the legendary music director Ravi Basrur. "Working with him has been an unforgettable experience," he said. He referred to Basrur as an "institution," who brought worldwide recognition to his village, Basrur, with his work.
