The upcoming pan-India fantasy adventure film Mirai, starring Teja Sajja and directed by Karthik Ghattamaneni, is gearing up for a grand release on September 12. Rocking Star Manoj Manchu plays a powerful role, while the project is produced by TG Vishwa Prasad and Krithi Prasad under the People Media Factory banner. With teasers and trailers creating massive buzz, Mirai is positioned as a large-scale visual spectacle.

During a recent media interaction, producer TG Vishwa Prasad shared his thoughts on the film’s journey, challenges, and vision.

A Confident Return

Vishwa Prasad noted that while 2024 was a disappointing year for their banner, Mirai is expected to mark a strong comeback. He explained that the team did not approach the project with market calculations in mind but instead focused on delivering a unique and extraordinary fantasy film. The movie features around ten large-scale episodes, enriched with strong storytelling, music, locations, and next-level graphics.

Story Inspiration

The producer shared that his love for Chandamama and Amar Chitra Katha stories as a child inspired him to back such a project. Mirai combines elements of Indian epics with fantasy fiction. A key element in the story revolves around Emperor Ashoka safeguarding knowledge in nine books, eight of which are protected by warriors while one is given to an ashram. The conflict over these books shapes the story.

He also mentioned that Teja Sajja trained in Thailand for action scenes, while Manoj Manchu appears in a powerful character. Several senior actors also play important roles, adding depth to the narrative.

Visuals and Technical Brilliance

Vishwa Prasad praised director Karthik Ghattamaneni’s clarity in planning visuals, sets, and graphics. He stated that the film is not only an adventurous fantasy but also tied to a mother’s determination, which is portrayed with emotional strength on screen. Every character has a purpose, and every sequence connects naturally, making the story believable despite its fantasy setting.

Global Release Strategy

The film is set for a wide release with major distributors handling different regions. Karan Johar is presenting the film in North India, Shlok is releasing it in the US, Hombale Films in Karnataka, Gokulam in Kerala, and AGS Entertainment in Tamil Nadu. In Telugu states, top distributors will ensure a grand release. The promotional material has already received highly positive responses across all regions.

VFX and Accessibility

The visual effects for Mirai were completed in-house, which gave the team better creative control compared to outsourcing. This allowed the makers to ensure the graphics matched the film’s ambitious scale.

Despite the high production values, the makers chose not to raise ticket prices. Vishwa Prasad emphasized that the goal was to make the film accessible to families and children, encouraging maximum participation in theaters.

Challenges and Unique Sequences

One of the most complex sequences involved Sampati, a giant bird. For this, a massive 30,000 square-foot set was created using animatronic technology. The producer highlighted that such a human-animal interaction has not been attempted at this scale in Indian cinema. He also revealed that the presence of Lord Sri Rama in the story holds special significance and will be an interesting experience for audiences in theaters.

Future Projects

Apart from Mirai, the production house is also working on Raja Saab, scheduled for release on January 9, with its trailer attached to Kantara 2. Other projects include Telusu Kada, Mowgli, a thriller with Lavanya Tripathi, a film with Sunil, Goodachari 2, Garividi Lakshmi, and several Kannada films. Around 12 films from the banner are expected to release between 2026 and 2027. With large-scale visuals, an engaging blend of mythology and fantasy, and strong technical support, Mirai is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious releases of the year. Producer TG Vishwa Prasad assured that audiences can expect a thrilling and memorable theatrical experience when the film arrives on September 12.
