Rajeev Reddy, producer of the highly anticipated action drama 'Ghaati', recently spoke with the media about the film's production and its upcoming release. Starring Anushka Shetty and Vikram Prabhu, and directed by Krish Jagarlamudi, the film is set to hit theaters on September 5th.

A Commercial Action Film with a Female Superstar

"The main idea was to make a commercial action film with a female superstar," Rajeev Reddy shared. "After 'Karthavyam', there hasn't been a movie on that scale. Among the current stars, Anushka has that kind of stardom. 'Ghaati' started when Krish garu wanted to do a project with her."

He revealed that the film's concept originated from a story set against the backdrop of Araku and Ganja. "We were debating whether to make it a movie or a web series. Finally, after we finalized the subject with Anushka garu, we started working on it as a movie," he said. He confirmed that 'Ghaati' is a completely fictional story with no real-life inspiration.

Anushka's Intense Performance and Stardom

Rajeev Reddy praised Anushka's performance, stating, "The intensity you've seen in the teaser and trailer is exactly what you'll get in the movie. It's a full-on action film with Krish's unique dramatic touch. Anushka's performance is on another level."

He recounted an incident during the shoot in a border area of Odisha, where thousands of people came just to see Anushka. "We had to resort to a couple of lathi charges to control the crowd. That's the level of popularity she has nationwide," he said.

He also praised director Krish, saying, "Krish never compromises on editing or background score. The post-production for all our films is very strong. 'Ghaati' will also be on a spectacular scale."

The Future of 'Ghaati' and Upcoming Projects

When asked about a potential 'Ghaati' sequel, the producer said, "We have no such plans for now. If audiences make it a big hit, we will think about a Part 2. There is definitely scope for a sequel in this story."

Rajeev Reddy is confident that 'Ghaati' will live up to the high expectations set by the previous successful collaboration between Krish and Anushka in 'Vedam'. "We are very happy with the final outcome. Everything we envisioned has come out wonderfully on screen," he said.

He also provided an update on his other projects, including a film with Varun Tej. "About 80% of the shooting is complete. It's a very good horror-comedy entertainer," he said. He also mentioned that scripts for 'Arabian Kadali Season 2' and an original film for Amazon are in the works, with announcements to be made after 'Ghaati's release.
