The inaugural Telangana Gaddar Film Awards, a prestigious initiative spearheaded by the Telangana government under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, concluded with resounding success on Saturday at the HITEX Exhibition Center. Following the grand ceremony, FDC Chairman Dil Raju and FDC MD Harish IAS held a press conference to express their gratitude to the government and the film industry for their overwhelming support.
FDC MD Harish IAS stated, "Under the directives of Honorable Chief Minister Revanth Reddy Garu, with the guidance of Cinematography Minister Komati Reddy Venkat Reddy Garu, and the overall supervision of FDC Chairman Dil Raju Garu, we successfully organized the Telangana Gaddar Awards ceremony. My sincere thanks to everyone—film enthusiasts, and the film industry—who contributed to the success of this awards event."
Dil Raju emphasized the scale and meticulous planning behind the event: "We organized the Telangana Gaddar Awards ceremony as a big event and made it a success. With six months of diligent effort, we successfully held the event yesterday. We formed a Telangana Gaddar Awards Committee, followed all rules and regulations, and presented these awards transparently, selecting films and technicians responsibly."
He highlighted the unique scope of the awards, which sought to recognize excellence from the state's formation: "We aimed to give awards from the inception of Telangana, selecting three best films from each year between 2014 and 2023, and also honoring the best actors and technicians from 2024. We are introducing such a good tradition with the Gaddar Film Awards."
Raju expressed immense joy at the outcome: "I am delighted that the awards function yesterday was a grand success. We are receiving excellent feedback on how the awards function was conducted, and everyone is praising it." He extended his heartfelt thanks to all who participated: "Everyone from the film industry participated enthusiastically. My thanks to all of them on behalf of the FDC. On this occasion, I extend my thanks to Komati Reddy Venkat Reddy Garu and Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Garu."
He reserved special appreciation for the Chief Minister: "My special thanks to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy Garu. The CM Garu dedicated two hours and fifteen minutes to this event. Initially, it was planned for an hour. However, at my request, he stayed for more than two and a half hours and presented awards to everyone. Everyone was extremely happy to receive awards from the CM Garu's hands."
Dil Raju also made an appeal to the film fraternity: "If awards are coming from the government, everyone in the film industry should accept them responsibly. Even if busy with shoots, wherever they are, if an award comes from the government, from any state, they should come to the ceremony and receive it. My request is that in the future, if an award comes from the government, it should be accepted."
He humbly offered an apology for any minor issues: "If any mistakes occurred due to small communication gaps in such a big event, and if anyone was upset, I apologize on behalf of the FDC. After the event, everyone appreciated it, and the reports from the government and the feedback from outside have been very positive."
The successful revival of the Telangana Gaddar Film Awards marks a significant step in fostering and celebrating cinematic talent within the state, promising a bright future for Telugu cinema.
