Since the last few years the Tollywood heroes have crossed borders and have begun making some noise. Some of the top heroes have already started making a mark across India. Now, it seems to be the turn of Nandamuri Natasimham Balakrishna but it is turning out to be the biggest challenge ever.
His recent release ‘Veera Simha Reddy’ opened for divide talk but due to the festive mode, the collections were good. It got a share of Rs 65 crores in the first week and estimates say it did a business of 75 crores worldwide. The film should earn 10 crores share at least for break even but the swing has reduced now. On the other hand, Chiranjeevi’s ‘Waltair Veerayya’ is killing the box office. At this juncture comes another one.
Balayya’s film ‘Akhanda’ which was released in 2021 is now gearing up for release in Hindi on January 20th. This comes as a surprise and added to that, the trailer also didn’t evoke the expected response. As it is, the film is already available on OTT and Balayya is not a known face in the north. To top it all, Shah Rukh Khan is arriving with ‘Pathaan’ on January 25th so Balayya has just 5 days to prove his mettle. Some are saying it would have been better if ‘Akhanda’ was not released as none of the factors are supportive. It remains to be seen if Balayya can really overcome all these hiccups and repeat the same hysteria in Hindi as he did with the Telugu version of ‘Akhanda’.
