"Sodara" Promises a Rollercoaster of Laughter and Tears, Say Lead Duo Sampoornesh Babu & Sanjosh
Telugu cinema's unique entertainer, Sampoornesh Babu, known for his quirky and humorous roles, is venturing into a different territory with "Sodara." This upcoming film delves into the cherished bond between brothers, with Sanjosh sharing the screen as the equally important second lead. Directed by Man Mohan Manem Palli and produced by Chandra Chagandla under the Can Entertainments banner, "Sodara" is all set to tug at heartstrings and tickle funny bones when it releases on April 25th.
Sharing his perspective with the media, Sampoornesh Babu stated, "The bond between brothers is truly special, and 'Sodara' brings that emotional connection vividly to the silver screen. This film marks a departure from my previous works, focusing on a heartfelt family story centered around two brothers. I portray the elder brother, a character burdened with responsibilities and a deep well of emotions. While embodying this role, I was constantly reminded of my own elder brother, Narasimha Chari. Initially, it was challenging, especially juggling other film commitments. However, I prioritized 'Sodara' and paused all other work to maintain the emotional continuity of my character.
While audiences can expect the humor they associate with me, 'Sodara' also offers a significant emotional core. I believe that after watching the film, many will feel compelled to reach out to their siblings. The comedy here is gentle and relatable, something the entire family can enjoy together. Many often ask why I haven't done another film like 'Hrudaya Kaleyam.' The simple truth is, scripts of that caliber haven't come my way yet. I've heard several, but none truly resonated. If I find a script with even stronger comedy than 'Hrudaya Kaleyam,' I will definitely do it. Besides 'Sodara,' I've also been part of other upcoming films and a web series titled 'Super Subbu.' As an actor, I still aspire to portray diverse and intense characters, something akin to Upendra's role in 'A.'"
Adding his thoughts, co-lead Sanjosh shared, "I've acted in 'Beveras' before, but sharing the screen with Sampoo as his younger brother in 'Sodara' has been an absolute delight. The film beautifully explores the dynamic between an innocent and responsible elder brother and his modern, updated younger sibling. Our director aptly describes it as a 'bromantic' drama – deeply emotional and rooted in strong family values.
I genuinely believe that Telugu cinema hasn't seen a film that portrays the essence of brotherhood with such sincerity in recent times. 'Sodara' has the power to evoke a strong emotional response in audiences, prompting them to reconnect with their own siblings. The movie touches the heart in a way that will resonate with everyone's personal experiences of sibling relationships.
Veteran actor Babu Mohan Garu plays our father in the film, delivering a mature and emotionally grounded performance. From the very beginning, I felt that Sampoo was the perfect fit for the elder brother's role, and he agreed as soon as he heard the story. I am confident that the audience will feel the same. The film speaks of a kind of brotherhood that is sadly becoming rare in today's world. If 'Sodara' inspires even a few people to mend bridges or reconnect with their siblings, it will be a significant victory for us. This film will undoubtedly make audiences laugh, but it will also move them to tears.
Sampoo and I share a positive outlook and a strong sense of character, and this journey has been incredibly fulfilling. I am also excited to share that I will soon be playing the lead role in a new film based on a real-life incident – a compelling story about the clash between an egoistic police officer and an ordinary man."
With its promise of clean humor intertwined with heartfelt emotional storytelling, "Sodara" aims to strike a deep chord with families and siblings, offering a cinematic experience that is both heartwarming and thought-provoking.
