Chiranjeevi clarifies about so-called 'My cancer got treated' comment

On Saturday, Megastar Chiranjeevi was at the inaugural of a cancer treatment centre in Hyderabad. On the occasion, he spoke of the indispensable nature of timely screenings meant to detect malignant tumors, etc. The Waltair Veerayya actor said that timely screening once helped him stave off a possible cancer in his body. His speech has been misconstrued by a section of the media, which reported that Chiru was diagnosed with cancer and got cured before the world came to know about it.

"I merely said that non-cancerous polyps were detected in my body and removed through treatment. If the early test to diagnose had not been done, it might have turned out into cancer. My speech was meant to assert the importance of screenings," the Bholaa Shankar actor said.

He asked media houses to stop scrolling the fake news that he had had cancer. "The news has caused unnecessary confusion and panic. Many well wishers have been sending me messages about my health. I urge journalists not to push nonsense without comprehending the issue," he wrote.

This is a rare occasion when Chiru has schooled the media.
