A Legacy of Compassion: Nandamuri Family Launches Basava Tarakam NTR Charitable Trust in Hyderabad
To honor the centenary birth anniversary of Smt. Nandamuri Basava Tarakam—wife of the legendary actor and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Late Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR)—the Nandamuri family formally launched the Nandamuri Basava Tarakam NTR Charitable Trust today in Hyderabad.
The inaugural event took place near the Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer Hospital. Family members paid floral tributes to Smt. Basava Tarakam before kicking off the trust's service journey with a fruit distribution drive at Grandma Home and a large-scale Annadanam (free community meal) for the underprivileged.

Speaking at the launch, Chairman Nandamuri Mohana Krishna reflected emotionally on his mother's selfless contributions to the family's growth while legendary NTR dedicated his life to cinema and public service.

Focus on Healthcare, Education & Welfare
Outlining the roadmap for the trust, Managing Trustee Nandamuri Mohana Roopa shared that the organization will focus heavily on educational scholarships, healthcare assistance, and welfare programs for needy communities. She also expressed her wishes for the speedy recovery of her uncle, actor Nandamuri Balakrishna.
Trustee Tummala Prasanna Kumar recalled how Smt. Basava Tarakam single-handedly managed the household and instilled discipline in the children while NTR served society. He added that the trust aims to carry forward those foundational human values through structured welfare initiatives in the coming years.
