Film director Sanoj Kumar Mishra has been arrested by Delhi Police following accusations of rape and blackmail. This arrest comes after his attempt to secure anticipatory bail was denied by the Delhi High Court.

A 28-year-old woman alleges that she connected with Mishra via social media in 2020. She claims that he coerced her into meeting him in 2021 by threatening suicide. Once they met, he allegedly drugged and sexually assaulted her at a resort.

The victim further accuses Mishra of taking compromising photos and videos, which he then used to blackmail her into a relationship. He allegedly promised marriage and film roles, leading her into a live-in relationship in Mumbai. During this time, she asserts he repeatedly assaulted her and forced her to undergo three abortions.

In February 2025, Mishra allegedly abandoned the woman and threatened to release her private images if she reported him to the police.

Police investigations led to an FIR being filed against Mishra, including charges of rape, assault, causing miscarriage, and criminal intimidation. The woman's statement under Section 164 CrPC and medical records from Muzaffarnagar corroborated her allegations.

Mishra, 45, is married and lives with his family in Mumbai. He had recently gained attention for offering a film role to Monalisa, who became known as the "Maha Kumbh girl."
