In a significant development regarding the Sheep Distribution Scheme scam, the Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has apprehended two high-ranking officials. This latest arrest comes as part of the ongoing investigation into the alleged misappropriation of funds within the Husbandry Department of Telangana.
The individuals taken into custody have been identified as Sabavath Ramchander, who served as the CEO of the Telangana Livestock Development Agency (formerly MD of the Telangana State Sheep and Goat Development Cooperative Federation Ltd), and Gundamaraju Kalyan Kumar, the former Officer on Special Duty (OSD) for the Minister of Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development, Fisheries, and Cinematography in Hyderabad.
According to the ACB, Ramchander and Kalyan Kumar are accused of colluding and conspiring with private individuals to carry out fraudulent activities. These illegal actions reportedly led to substantial financial losses for the government, totaling Rs. 2.1 crores.
