The Congress party has been attacking Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao regarding the recent raids in Hyderabad on its party strategist Sunil Kanugolu in Hyderabad, at his office. The party even raised this issue in the Parliament.

The Hyderabad Police has named Congress strategist Sunil Kanugolu as the prime accused in FIRs that were filed regarding derogatory posts on CM K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s daughter K. Kavitha and others. Based on confession, three persons were reportedly taken into custody during raids on Sunil’s office in Madhapur by the Cyber crime police. Meanwhile, the Additional Commissioner of Police Vikram Singh Mann added that Sunil Kanugolu has been absconding since then.

These days, it has become a fashion to ridicule on social media. In Telangana, particularly the opposition is unable to tackle the strength of the BRS party. For over eight years, despite criticism from opposition which is usually unfounded, the state has made impressive strides in many areas. Right from roads and infrastructure to social welfare schemes and irrigation, agriculture, the development

that has taken place in Telangana has never happened in the last 60 years under United AP.

There should be a basis for criticism and it has to be issue based. Right from KTR’s passionate pictures on social media about what he is interested in and his witty ideas to the weight of KTR’s son Himanshu, all limit’s regarding decency are being crossed with impunity these days. Body shaming is an entirely undesirable trend and the derogatory posts involving KCR and Kavitha have taken politics to a new low where the followers of a political party rejoice, without any ethics and morals.

This has been going on for a while and now when there are arrests, there are calls for their release, on the basis of humanity. Why has there been no humanity when someone is personally degraded and no issue-based criticism with evidence. With elections round the corner, it is a wake-up call to properly use social media, make objective criticism and not vulgar ridicule that has become the norm for opposition parties these days in Telangana. There has to be a self imposed code at least for political parties to handle their social media handles in a professional and productive way.
