The news has been twisted by a section of the Tamil YouTubers to sensationally suggest that the Prime Minister fears that his party is going to lose the upcoming election and is planning to run away from India anticipating action from India's new PM, Rahul Gandhi.
In a video that is going viral on the Internet, two male journalists are seen talking about Modi's 'secretive' plan to which only they have access. No, they are not nobodies. They have been part of the mainstream Tamil media.
Commenting on the video, Prasanna Viswanathan of Sawrajya says, "Even as we laugh, the discussion between these two Dravidoid journos (they are as mainstream as it can get- both worked in senior edit roles in major publications) is emblematic of larger D stock crowd's nuttiness, hate, ignorance, bigotry, crassness but still feeling supremacist." The viral video clip has been amplified on WhatsApp.
Tamil Nadu has been ideologically polarized. A large section of the media tries to spread hate-filled rumours in the hope that their readers/viewer base will be satisfied.
