World Cup: Pakistan complains to ICC about India vs Pakistan match

As per ESPN, the "crowd behaviour directed towards the Pakistan players" during the clash is the bone of contention. After Rizwan got out, crowds chanted 'Jai Shri Ram' as he walked back to the pavilion. It was seen by many as taunting and heckling.

The PCB, which feels that the match felt like a BCCI event rather than an ICC event, has invoked a particular section of the ICC. "The ICC and each of its Members should take such steps as are necessary to prevent the occurrence at International Matches played within its jurisdiction or those played as part of an ICC Event (as applicable) of Inappropriate Conduct by spectators and to ensure that any such conduct is dealt with in a timely manner by the Member or ICC (as applicable) or others before, during and/or after the International Match (as may be appropriate)," section 11 of the ICC's anti-discrimination policy says.

It is unlikely that the BCCI will be pulled up for what happened on the occasion. Also, the BCCI can quote Indian government officials in giving valid reasons for visas not being issued to Pakistanis for the match by Indian authorities. It was a no-brainer. If the crowds at the venue were predominantly Indian and were ranged against Pak, that's Pak's own doing. Their players have, in the past, communalized cricket quite blatantly. They had it coming.
