It is known that an Army Colonel, a major and a DSP from J&K were killed in a gunfight with Pakistan-backed terrorists in Anantnag district in Kashmir on Wednesday. The incident has shocked the conscience of the nation.
The question is this: Should India continue to engage with Pakistan in the field of cricket despite that country's deep hatred towards India?
There is a view that BCCI, which wields a lot of clout in the ICC, should do everything it can to teach Pakistan a lesson. Columnist Tushar Gupta opines that the BCCI should chuck out the Pakistan Cricket Board from the ICC. "Ban any professional from entering India and participating in the India Premiere League if they are seen in the Pakistan Super League. They just need to get Australia and England on their side by promising them an additional tour. Every other famished board shall follow," he adds.
Senior journalist Rajdeep Sardesai opines that we should either play unconditionally with Pakistan or not at all. "We can’t treat an Indo-Pak match as a money-making exercise and yet seek to score political points," he wrote on Twitter.
