It is well known that Telugu Desam Party chief Chandrababu Naidu was served notices by the Income Tax Department regarding the Rs 118 crore funds that were offshored into his accounts.
However, CBN did not revert back to the IT notices till now and he decided to keep mum on the same. In the meanwhile, he was caught in the AP skill scam and was sent on judicial remand to Rajahmundry central jail.
Now, the IT department has turned aggressive on the same as they are set to give another physical notice to Chandrababu in the next few days. If CBN doesn't respond to this physical notice either in 2-weeks from the date of issuance, the case will be transferred to the Enforcement Directorate.
If the IT department transfers CBN's Rs 118 offshoring case to the ED, then things could get real ugly for Naidu as he will be caught in the AP skill scam, the Inner ring road scam, the fiber grid scam and now, in the Rs 118 crores offshoring case that could land on the table of the ED very soon.
