It is known that TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu is one of the primary accused in the AP fiber grid scam and he has already been sent on remand in the AP skill development case.
Now, Naidu has filed for anticipatory bail in the fiber grid scam. His legal counsel, led by Siddharth Luthra stated that the timing of CBN's arrest in the skill development scam and now the pursuing of the fiber grid scam is suspicious as they come right before the elections.
However, the High Court bench that is hearing the case has a contradicting statement as they say that it is justified that the case took two years to materialize as the investigation is an internal process and takes substantial amount of time.
"The prima facie material collected by the prosecution and also taking note of the stand of the prosecution that a witness, who was consultant on various parts of the project, was examined through Webex on 14.09.2023 only, this Court does not see any merit in the contention regarding motivated timing" the statement from the bench read.
The high court is hearing the anticipatory bail plea filed by the TDP chief and the mentioned statement is one of the decisive comments made by the court since the time hearing commenced today.
