It is known that TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu has been arrested and sent on judicial remand to Rajahmundry central jail. This is the most discussed topic in AP politics now.
Cut to now, YCP senior leader Vijayasai Reddy could get disqualified as an MLA and could even be barred from contesting in the elections for 6 years, as per the penal code.
"The matter is in the court, the evidence is presented, and the accused has been arrested. Why is the TDP scared of a trial? Let #ChandrababuNaidu have his day in court, if the courts decide, he may walk free."
"But if convicted he shall be disqualified as an MLA and debarred from fighting elections for the next 6 years." Vijayasai Reddy tweeted. Meaning, Naidu could get disqualified and even barred from contesting in the election for 6 years if he is found guilty in the case.
But will this actually happen and come to effect before the 2024 elections? We have to wait and see as the case is still in the court and an official judgement is yet to be made.
