AP govt to go SC against HC verdict on Amaravathi. CM Jagan Mohan Reddy and the ruling AP government got a huge setback when the AP High Court ruled against its decision regarding the construction of houses for the poor in R-5 zone at the capital city Amaravati,

The High Court division bench comprising Justices DVSS Somayajulu, Ch. Manavendranath Roy and Ravinath Tilhari in its interim order issued a stay on the construction of houses under the ‘Pedalandiriki Illu’ program taken up by the YSR Congress government by allotting house sites for the poor from parts of Guntur and Krishna districts.

It is known that several farmers approached against the government decision to the High Court and challenged the GO 45 to facilitate the allotment of house sites and construction of houses to the poor at R-5 zone.xxx. Recently CM Jagan with much fanfare launched the distribution of house sanction proceedings at Venkatapalem at Thullur mandal in Guntur district and even lashed out at the Opposition parties like Telugu Desam for creating legal hurdles for the construction of 50,793 houses at an estimated cost of Rs 1,370 crore.

Now, reports are coming that the AP government is studying the High Court order and will soon approach the Supreme Court against the High Court stay order.
