Hyderabad, March 2, 2025: A memorial meeting for the late Krishnaveni, a prominent figure in Telugu cinema, was held in Hyderabad's Film Nagar on Sunday. The event was attended by several notable personalities from the film industry and political circles, including former Vice President of India, Muppavarapu Venkaiah Naidu.

Speaking at the event, Venkaiah Naidu paid tribute to Krishnaveni's multifaceted career as an actress, producer, playback singer, and head of Sobhanachala Studios. He highlighted her significant contributions to Telugu cinema and lauded her as a unique and talented artist.

Naidu recalled Krishnaveni's role in introducing legendary actor Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR) to the film industry in the 1949 film "Manadesam," directed by LV Prasad. He also acknowledged her contribution to the rise of Akkineni Nageswara Rao's stardom through the film "Kilu Gurram."

Naidu praised Krishnaveni for being an inspiration and role model to many actors and actresses, having led a fulfilling life of 102 years. He also commended senior journalist Bhageeratha for creating a short film on Krishnaveni's life.

The memorial meeting was organized by the NTR Committee, and its chairman, TD Janardhan, expressed admiration for Krishnaveni's role in introducing NTR to cinema. Nandamuri Mohanakrishna and Ramakrishna, sons of NTR, expressed pride in being part of the event honoring the woman who introduced their father to the film world. Akkineni Ramesh Prasad, son of LV Prasad, also shared his family's admiration for Krishnaveni and her husband, Meerjapuram Raja.

Several other prominent figures from the Telugu film industry, including actors, producers, and technicians, attended the event and paid their respects to Krishnaveni. The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Krishnaveni's granddaughter, Dr. Saipriya Jasti.

The memorial meeting served as a fitting tribute to Krishnaveni, celebrating her remarkable journey and her invaluable contributions to Telugu cinema.
