Megastar Chiranjeevi, one of the most iconic figures in the Telugu film industry, is all set to collaborate with 'Dasara' director Srikanth Odela for his upcoming project, tentatively titled 'Mega157'. The announcement of this film has already created a buzz among fans, and now, there’s a new twist that’s adding to the excitement. According to reports by Times Now, Bollywood actress Rani Mukerji is being considered for a pivotal role in the film.
If the reports are confirmed, this would mark Rani Mukerji’s second venture in South Indian cinema after her role in the 2000 Kamal Haasan-starrer Hey Ram. The role in question is said to be significant, requiring a prominent actress to match the stature of the project. However, neither the makers nor Rani Mukerji have officially commented on the development.
'Mega157' is rumored to be a gangster action film set against the backdrop of the 1990s. Chiranjeevi’s character is reportedly designed to be stylish and unique, while also aligning with his age and persona. The film is being produced by Sudhakar Cherkuri under the banner of SLV Cinemas, with music composed by the talented Anirudh Ravichander.
Srikanth Odela, who is helming the project, expressed his excitement about working with Chiranjeevi, calling it a dream come true. “Growing up, I watched Chiranjeevi sir’s films, and now, directing him feels surreal. He finalized the script within 48 hours of hearing it, which shows his enthusiasm for the project,” Odela shared.
On the work front, Chiranjeevi is currently busy with 'Vishwambhara', a fantasy action film directed by Mallidi Vassishta. The movie features Trisha Krishnan, Kunal Kapoor, and Ashika Ranganath in key roles and is being produced by UV Creations, with music by MM Keeravani. Additionally, the megastar has signed a comedy film with *Bhagavanth Kesari* director Anil Ravipudi, which is expected to showcase his impeccable comedic timing.
