Vintage is being used in a very different sense these days. While other language heroes are justifying the vintage tag, our heroes don’t seem to be literally doing it the way it has to be. The recent releases of Balayya and Chiru have been given vintage tags.

However, there is nothing unique in both the films. Most scenes in Veerasimha Reddy remind us of the hangover for Balayya since the days of Samara Simha Reddy with the same fights, faction backdrop and violence. It has nothing new to offer.

Same is the case with Waltair Veerayya. A mere Muta Mesthri get up and comedy scenes like Jai Chiranjeevi does no good for this film, which has nothing new to offer. Many feel that old films can be re-released that can qualify as vintage and not these movies which carry the tag of routine mass masala.
