The highly anticipated #Suriya44, the first collaboration between versatile star Suriya and director Karthik Subbaraj, has officially been titled "Retro." A thrilling teaser, released on Christmas Day, offers a first look at this exciting project, produced by Suriya under his 2D Entertainment banner.
The "Retro" teaser provides a tantalizing glimpse into a gripping gangster drama, promising a potent mix of intense action, romance, and emotional depth. The teaser centers on Suriya's character, a complex individual torn between his love for Pooja Hegde's character and the violent life he desperately seeks to escape.
The teaser opens with a tranquil scene featuring Suriya and Pooja on the ghats of Kashi. In a poignant moment, Suriya vows to leave his violent past behind, promising to sever ties with the world of crime. This tender scene culminates in a romantic proposal, which Pooja happily accepts.
However, the teaser quickly takes a darker turn as Suriya's past resurfaces. He is haunted by a legacy of violence connected to his father and other dangerous figures. The teaser skillfully juxtaposes his softer, more vulnerable side with his raw, ferocious gangster persona. The final frames showcase a raw and intense Suriya, casually drinking and smoking, hinting at the turmoil within.
