With its intriguing promotional content, including the teaser, trailer, and songs, "Srikakulam Sherlock Holmes" has already generated significant buzz. Vamsi Nandipathi, known for his successful films like "K," "Polimer 2," and "Committee Kurrollu," is releasing the film, which is set to hit theaters on December 25th.3
Here's what Ananya Nagalla shared about the film:
On what attracted her to the story:
"I've never heard a story like this before," Ananya shared. "When Mohan garu narrated it, it felt incredibly fresh and unique. The way the story unfolds from different perspectives, showcasing various viewpoints on a single incident, was very intriguing. I immediately agreed to be a part of this extraordinary and different film. I'm confident it will be a wonderful Christmas gift for the audience."
On the justification for the title:
"In the film, the detective's mother is named Sharmila, his father is Lokanath, and he is Om Prakash. The title 'Sherlock Holmes' is derived from the first letters of their names. Also, in Telugu cinema, when we think of detective films, Chiranjeevi garu's 'Chantabbai' comes to mind. So, we added that tag to connect with a wider audience."
About her role:
"I play the character of Bhramaramba. It's a fantastic role, unlike anything I've done before. This is an extraordinary story. It takes place on the day former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated. He had finished his tour of Vizag and went to Sriperumbudur, where he was killed. When a major incident like that happens, smaller incidents often go unnoticed. On that same day, a case occurs in our story, and as we delve into it, it unfolds like a tangled web with many twists and turns, making the narrative very engaging."
On working with co-star Raviteja:
"Working with Raviteja was a great experience. He has a zeal to make every scene better, and I really liked that. There's a cute love story in the film, along with thrills and suspense."
On the film's music:
"All three songs released so far have become chartbusters. The 'Srikakulam' song especially resonated with people, and the love story song is also beautiful."
On compliments from Pawan Kalyan:
"During the filming of a court scene, Pawan Kalyan garu complimented me, saying I was doing a great job and that my emotional quotient was evident, with real pain showing through in my performance. I was very happy to hear that."
On future projects:
Ananya shared her excitement about her upcoming projects, "Kathakali" and "Lechindi Mahila Lokam," and mentioned that she is currently working on a female-oriented film in Hindi. She also expressed gratitude for the support and guidance from Vamsi Nandipathi and the producer, Raman Reddy, and praised the director, Mohan, for his clear vision.
Ananya concluded by expressing her happiness with her journey in the film industry and the positive reception to her recent film, "Pottel." She is excited about the future and the diverse roles that await her.
