"It's my good fortune to be introduced as a heroine with a good commercial divine thriller like 'Devaki Nandan Vasudeva'. The character of Satyabhama I played in this will be remembered": Heroine Manasa Varanasi

Ashok Galla, grandson of superstar Krishna and nephew of superstar Mahesh Babu, is ready to entertain with his second film, "Devaki Nandan Vasudeva." The film is directed by Arjun Jandyala, known for his hit film "Guna 369." The story is provided by Prasanth Varma, and Manasa Varanasi is the heroine. Produced by Somineni Balakrishna under the Lalithambika Productions banner, presented by Nallapaneni Yamini, the teaser, trailer, and songs have already created good buzz for the film. It is set to release in theaters on November 22nd. Heroine Manasa Varanasi recently shared some interesting insights about the film in a press meet.

Tell us about your background?

  • I was born in Hyderabad. I studied in Malaysia until the 10th standard and did my engineering in Hyderabad. I worked in the corporate world and then participated in the Miss India competition. I won the Miss India title and represented India in the Miss World competition. Then, while thinking whether to continue with my job or take this opportunity further, I attended movie workshops. That's where my passion for cinema was born. I gained confidence in acting there. I gave some auditions and am learning about cinema. This is a new world for me.
  • I'm very happy to be introduced to the audience with a film like "Devaki Nandan Vasudeva." It's a commercial divine thriller. As a debut actress, it's a great opportunity to work with this unit. I'm very excited about this film.

What will your character be like in the film?

  • My character's name is Satyabhama. She's a girl from Vijayanagaram. This film is set against the backdrop of Vijayanagaram. Satyabhama is a very playful, lovable, and mysterious girl. She's a girl who faces any difficulty with courage. This is a character I personally like a lot. My role in the story is very strong. It's a key role.

This is your first film, right? What challenges did you face?

  • The first film is always challenging. You have to learn the words used on set, the words used by the director, and the language of cinema on the spot. You have to be spontaneous. Also, Satyabhama is a village girl. It was also challenging to embrace that body language and slang. I enjoyed this process a lot. It's a roller coaster ride. It's a big learning experience for me. I learned a lot.

About your working experience with Ashok Galla?

  • Ashok is very professional. He's very passionate about cinema. I really enjoyed working with him. We used to share a lot of things on the sets. He would tell me things he learned from Mahesh Babu. Working with him was really a wonderful experience.

What element did you like in this story?

  • My mind was blown as soon as I heard this story. It's a very interesting story. I consider it very fortunate to get such a story and character as a debut actress. The character of Satyabhama will always be remembered.

About the music?

  • Bheems did an amazing job with the music. He took the film to another level with his music. The songs are already super hits. Bheems is a very passionate composer. He composed some beautiful numbers.
  • There are four songs in total. "Emayinde" and "Bangaram" are my favorites. I learned Bharatanatyam. Grace comes automatically because of Bharatanatyam. "Bangaram" is a mass song. Vijay choreographed it wonderfully. The dance moves are getting an amazing response.

About the production house?

  • Balakrishna is a very passionate producer. He was very supportive. It's because of him that this story turned out so grand. I learned a lot from the production house.

Your favorite genres?

  • Romance, comedy, mystery thriller are my favorite genres. I'm ready to do any genre if the story is good.

Have you liked movies since childhood?

  • I used to watch movies of Mahesh Babu, Pawan Kalyan, Venkatesh, Nagarjuna... everyone. I've been watching even more movies for the past four years.

About new films?

  • I'm doing a Telugu-Tamil bilingual film called "Couple Friendly" with UV Creations.
