"Matka" Features My Most Different Character Yet, Says Actress Meenakshi Chaudhary
Meenakshi Chaudhary, who recently enjoyed a super hit with "Lucky Bhaskar" this Diwali, is now gearing up for the release of her next film, "Matka." Starring alongside Mega Prince Varun Tej, the film is directed by Karuna Kumar and produced by Dr. Vijender Reddy Teegala and Rajani Talluri under Vyra Entertainments and SRT Entertainments. The film's teaser and trailer have created a huge buzz, and the music composed by GV Prakash Kumar has been a chartbuster hit. "Matka" is set to release on November 14th.
In a recent press meet, Meenakshi Chaudhary shared her excitement about the film and her character.
How does it feel to have "Matka" releasing after the success of "Lucky Bhaskar"?
- I'm very happy. It's every actor's dream. "Lucky Bhaskar" was a good success, and now "Matka" is coming. My film "Mechanic Rocky" is also ready for release this month. Having three films release in the same month is a joyous occasion for me as an actor. It's a special moment, and I'm very excited about "Matka."
Tell us about your character in "Matka."
- I play the character of Sujata, who is Vasu's love interest. My role has three different phases. It's a character that travels alongside Vasu's character, a life journey. Sujata is a very positive character and plays an important role in Vasu's life. There's an innocence to Sujata. She's like a light in Vasu's life. Everyone will be able to relate to my character.
Since this is a life journey, did the makeover feel challenging?
- There's a very exciting transformation. I have a vintage look in this film. I appear different as a teenager, and my look changes as life progresses. The director was very particular about the look. He designed the character's look with specific sketches. A lot of care was taken with makeup, hairstyle, and costumes. It was a wonderful experience.
Was playing Sujata challenging for you?
- Definitely, there were challenges in playing this character. It's a period drama. Body language in that era was different compared to modern times. I had to do my homework to achieve that, and it was exciting. This is my most different look yet. It was a new experience, and I enjoyed it a lot.
About your working experience with the hero?

Working with Varun Tej was a wonderful experience. He's a wonderful human being and very helpful on set. He has a lot of knowledge about cinema. He acted brilliantly as Vasu and worked very hard.

We have a song together, a love song. It's like a life story. The director presented the song beautifully. Everyone put in 100% effort for this film. I'm confident it will be a big hit.

What kind of genres do you like to do?
- I like all genres. If the story is good, I want to do all kinds of roles. Currently, I'm shooting for "Sankrantiki Vastunnaam."
