The "Oath Taking Ceremony of the Elected Executive Members of Telangana Film Chamber of Commerce" was a significant event held in Hyderabad, marking a new chapter for the organization. The ceremony, which was attended by various dignitaries, was presided over by the Minister of Cinematography, Komatireddy Venkata Reddy, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Ramesh Prasad, the head of Prasad Group of Companies, was also present as a guest of honor.
The event brought together key figures from the film industry who discussed the various challenges and needs of the sector in Telangana. TFCC Chairman Pratani Ramakrishna Gowd delivered a heartfelt address, thanking the minister for his presence and voicing the industry's concerns. Among the key issues raised was the need for a permanent office space for the Film Chamber. Ramakrishna Gowd specifically requested an 800-yard plot in Filmnagar to establish this office. Additionally, he highlighted the plight of workers in the film industry, especially those residing in Chitrapuri Colony, and called for government intervention to resolve issues such as the high charges levied by content providers in theaters, which disproportionately affect small films.
TFCC Vice President Gururaj echoed these concerns, particularly the ongoing issues with Chitrapuri Colony, and further emphasized the need for government support for the theater releases of small films. Other notable speakers, including TFCC Secretary JVR and Kacham Sathyanarayana, expressed their gratitude for the minister’s participation and urged continued governmental support for the industry. Actress Kavitha spoke about the significant role TFCC plays in supporting newcomers, while TMAs Secretary Snigdha highlighted the organization's efforts to address issues faced by women artists in particular. Hero Kiran also shared his struggles, drawing attention to the difficulties faced by small films, especially in securing theatrical releases.
Ramesh Prasad, in his speech, praised the Telangana Film Chamber for its contributions to the growth of the industry and wished success to the newly elected members. He took the opportunity to commend the growing global recognition of Telugu cinema and emphasized the importance of the Film Chamber’s role in supporting the industry.
Minister Komatireddy Venkata Reddy concluded the event with an inspiring speech, congratulating Pratani Ramakrishna Gowd on his re-election as TFCC Chairman. He assured the audience of the government’s full support in addressing the issues raised. The minister emphasized that cinema belongs to everyone in the industry, not just the major players, and expressed his commitment to help secure land for the Film Chamber’s office and flats for filmmakers in Chitrapuri Colony. He also reiterated his pledge to continue supporting the release of small films, ensuring they receive the exposure they deserve in theaters.
This event was a reaffirmation of the government's ongoing support for the film industry in Telangana, with a special focus on addressing the concerns of smaller filmmakers and workers in the sector.
