'Darling' Short Review: This harebrained film is pointlessly wild

'Darling' is one of the Telugu box-office arrivals of the week. Released today (July 19), the film stars Priyadarshi and Nabha Natesh as a couple whose marriage is troubled because of the latter's multiple personality disorder problem.

Directed by Aswin Raam, the film is a blend of 'Aparichitudu' and 'F2'. The climax threatens to be an unwittingly hilarious rehash of the climax of 'Vasantha Kokila'.

Priyadarshi plays Raghav, who is over-excited about marrying a loving woman. He has been conditioned by his mother to opt for a caring woman. How come such a person trusts a woman he met just hours ago? He marries Anandhi within five hours of meeting her without caring to know what her interests are. This is foolishness coming from someone who believes his entire life depends on an ideal wife.

Anandhi has unresolved traumas and has developed a handful of personalities over the years. Who is the real Anandhi? Will Raghav be able to come to terms with the reality? That's what the climax is about.

At 161 minutes, the film is tedious. With music by Vivek Sagar, it has been produced by Niranjan Reddy and Smt. Chaitanya.
