Interview: Krithi Shetty about 'Manamey'

As per Krithi Shetty, 'Manamey' is a perfect family entertainer. Set to hit the screens on June 7, the Sriram Adittya directorial has Sharwanand in the role of a semi-irresponsible husband who struggles with unexpected parenthood when he has to raise a barely year-old baby. Its Trailer was digitally shared by actor Ram Charan today.

Speaking about the film, Krithi says that the light treatment is what she thinks will work for the film the most. The first half of the trailer attests to her statement.

A decisive character:

My name in the film is Subhadra. Earlier, I used to play bubbly, friendly roles. In 'Manamey', I play a wife who is self-assertive in her relationship. The director asked me to approach the role from a new lens.

Sharwanand is stunning:

Sharwanand is a fascinating actor who is quick and takes to anything just like that. He can perform even a highly challenging scene with casual ease.

Tollywood is more important:

To me, Telugu cinema is more important. As such, I have been extremely choosy. That's why you haven't seen me in any movie in the past many months. I have been busy in Kollywood. Among my upcoming movies are three Tamil outings and a Malayalam feature film.

Length doesn't matter:

I don't mind a role that offers me only a limited screentime. Nobody expected me to do a secondary female lead in 'Shyam Singha Roy' after a blockbuster like 'Uppena'.

A dream role:

I have a dream role. I want to play a Princess. Think of Devasena, played by Anushka ma'am, in 'Baahubali 2'.
