It is known that actress Hema recently tested positive for drug consumption. On Saturday, actor and Movie Artists Association President Manchu Vishnu said that MAA won't take action against her unless she is proven to be guilty.
Vishnu said that a few media outlets and individuals have been making baseless allegations about Hema. "I urge everyone to refrain from jumping to conclusions and spreading unverified information. Hema deserves to be presumed innocent until proven guilty. She is also a mother and a wife, and slandering her image based on rumors is unjust," he added.
He urged the media to desist from "sensationalizing unsubstantiated news".
The opinion expressed by Vishnu is likely to invite controversy.
