Sukriti Veni Bandreddi, daughter of acclaimed director Sukumar and Tabitha Sukumar, has been honored with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for Best Child Artist for the film 'Gandhi Thatha Chettu'. She is currently studying in Standard VIII at the International School of Hyderabad.
This is not the first award that the film has won. At the Dubai International Film Festival and the Indian Film International Festival, Sukriti won awards in the Best Debutante Child Artist category. The film also won the Best Picture Award at the 11th Noida International Film Festival, Jury Best Film and Best Regional Film at the New Delhi Film Festival, Jury Best Film at the Jaipur International Film Festival and at the 8th Indian World Film Festival.
Mythri Movie Makers, Sukumar Writings, and Gopi Talkies have produced the Padmavathi Malladi directorial.
Meanwhile, Sukumar is helming 'Pushpa 2' with Allu Arjun as the hero. The film will hit the screens on August 15 in multiple languages.
