'Lover', a love story made originally in Tamil, will be released in Telugu as 'True Lover'. Commercial director Maruthi (who is currently doing 'The Raja Saab' with Prabhas) has joined hands with 'Baby' producer SKN to present the film in Telugu. The film, led by Manikandan, Gouri Priya Reddy and Kanna Ravi, will hit the screens on February 14.
In a poster announcing the release date, we see the brooding male lead, who is visibly distraught and bruised, sitting in a ramshackle room with a cigarette between his fingers. He is bearded and has taken to alcoholism to probably cope with a loss. "Never forget this love on this Valentine's Day," the poster says. There is an indication that 'True Lover' could be a romantic tragedy with Kollywood sensibilities.
Directed by debutant Prabhuram Vyas, the film's music is by Sean Roldan and the cinematography is by Shreyaas Krishna. Art direction is by Raj Kamal.
The film's teaser and trailer will be released in the coming weeks. With Maruthi and SKN backing the romantic drama, expect it to enjoy buzz ahead of Valentine's Day.
