'Salaar' is all set to stream on Netflix from January 20. The Prabhas-starrer will be available in these languages: Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada.
Helmed by Prashanth Neel, the action drama set in Khansaar City, a fictional town, is produced by Hombale Films. Prithviraj Sukumaran, Jagapathi Babu, Sriya Reddy, Easwari Rao, Shruti Haasan, Bobby Simha, Mime Gopi and others formed part of the cast.
In our review, we opined that 'Salaar' would likely not work with the Hindi audience. We contrasted the Neel directorial with the 'KGF' movies and 'Pushpa: The Rise', asserting that 'Salaar' is more like a mass masala action drama sans the magic of the movies of Sukumar and Neel's previous outings. That's what happened at the box office. 'Salaar' couldn't become a roaring hit in Hindi despite belonging to the right genre. Shah Rukh Khan's superstardom and Rajkumar Hirani's popularity ensured that 'Dunki' gave it a tough fight. Sobhu Yarlagadda, the producer of 'Baahubali', openly said that Prabhas should have promoted 'Salaar' in Hindi for it to realize its optimum.
'Salaar 2' has been planned. Its scripting works are yet to begin.
