On 8 March 2024, two important medium-range films will lock horns at the box office. They are 'Double iSmart' and 'Gangs Of Godavari'. The former is led by Ram Pothineni, while the latter stars Vishwak Sen in the lead.
"A tale of absolute grit and determination and the rise of a man from rags to riches! (sic)," the makers of Sen's film today said, announcing the postponement of their period drama from December 8 this year to March 8 next year. The theatrical release of 'GOG' has been put off mainly because its shoot is incomplete. It is produced by Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas.
Between the two, 'Double iSmart' stands greater chances of generating good openings by virtue of being a sequel to 'iSmart Shankar'. Moreover, it is directed by Puri Jagannadh, whose brand name still holds value despite a series of flops. That said, 'GOG' will find it relatively easy to find theatres of its choice, considering that producer S Naga Vamsi is bankrolling it.
