Veteran Telugu actor Chandra Mohan passes away

Chandra Mohan, one of the most versatile and loved actors, is no more. He died of cardiac arrest at Hyderabad's Apollo Hospital at 9:45 am on Saturday. His family members confirmed his demise.

As one of the most long-lasting artists of his time, Chandra Mohan was always sought after by Telugu filmmakers. The 1980 film 'Sankarabharanam', directed by his cousin K Viswanath, remains one of the greatest Indian classics of all time. Chandra Mohan played a pivotal role in it.

It was sentimentally believed by some of his industry colleagues that he was a 'golden hand'. He was apparently the lucky charm for a lot of his friends, who used to formally make new starts in his presence.

In his retirement years, Chandra Mohan made himself accessible to the media and gave a number of interviews to YouTube channels. In one of the interviews, he hinted that he couldn't earn as much as most of his colleagues in the film industry did. He was also adamant that his daughters don't enter the film industry.

Jr NTR was the first major star to condole Chandra Mohan's demise. He described him as a versatile artist. Sai Dharam Tej wrote, "His is a face that takes us down the memory lane and puts a smile on our faces every time with his memorable acting and characters."
