Nithya Menen's name has been dragged into a controversy. It has been claimed by influential social media handles that the multi-lingual actress was harassed on the sets of a Kollywood film and that the offender is a top Tamil actor. The fact of the matter is that Nithya never made the utterance in any interview.
The actress herself today felt compelled to issue a clarification and take the rumor-mongers to the cleaners. "We are all here for such a short period of time. It always surprises me how much wrong we do to each other. I point this out today because only accountability stops bad behaviour," she wrote in an angry social media refutation.
Nithya has acted in popular Tamil titles such as 'Mersal', 'Kanchana 2', 'O Kadhal Kanmani' and '24'. In Telugu, she was last seen in Pawan Kalyan's 'Bheemla Nayak'.
On Tuesday, the Hyderabad-based cine media was witness to the first episode of her upcoming Amazon Prime Video series 'Kumari Srimathi'. The show has been written and created by Srinivas Avasarala. It is produced by Vyjayanthi Movies and stars her in the role of an entrepreneur vying to claim ownership of her ancestral property.
