Usually, films starring a newcomer as the hero don't dare to opt for early premieres. But producer Miriyala Ravinder Reddy is going for paid premiers of 'Peddha Kapu 1'.
The film, starring the producer's brother-in-law Virat Karrna as the debutant hero, is scheduled to hit the screens on September 29 (Friday). Paid premiers will be held in the Telugu States on the night of September 28 (Thursday).
For now, bookings have been floated in a limited number of centres. Depending on the pace of booking, Dwaraka Creations will ask exhibitors and distributors to add more premiere shows.
In recent months, paid premiers have worked wonders for films like 'Major', 'Samajavaragamana', 'Writer Padmabhushan' and 'Mem Famous'.
'Peddha Kapu 1' is directed by Srikanth Addala of 'Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu'. Anasuya Bharadwaj, Brigida Saga and Rao Ramesh have important roles. Naren and Addala will also be seen. The action drama has music by Mickey J Meyer.
Srikanth Addala is also scheduled to do a movie franchise named 'Annai'. The film will feature characters inspired by real-life personalities such as Vangaveeti Radha and Vangaveeti Ranga.
