'Kumari Srimathi' features star heroine Nithya Menen as the central character. Written and created by Srinivas Avasarala, the web series is directed by Gomtesh Upadhye.
Amazon Prime Video today unveiled the Teaser for the 7-episode comedy-drama. Nithya Menen's character refuses to get married because she wants to become a proven businesswoman first. A short-tempered woman, she can't take an old woman trying to rub her worldview on her. So, a "When are you going to get married?" question gets a tight slap from the female protagonist in the form of a "When are you going to die because someone younger than you died recently" riposte.
This is quite an outdated and dull repartee, to be sure. One hopes the Telugu-language original has better content. If this is the level of humour that is going to be there, the show will end up disappointing the audience.
Produced by Swapna Dutt and Priyanka Dutt, the series will stream in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, and Malayalam from September 28. With cinematography by Mohan Krishna, this one has music by Staccato and Kamran. Praneeta Pantaik, VK Naresh and Thiruveer of the recent 'Masooda' fame will be seen in prominent roles.
