It is known that two 'Don' franchise films have been done by Shah Rukh Khan. The first one was 'Don: The Chase Begins Again', which was released in 2006. The second one was 'Don 2: The King Is Back', which was released in the year 2011. More than 14 years after the second edition, 'Don 3' is going to grace the big screens (in the year 2025).
This time, there is a change, though. SRK has given way to Ranveer Singh. Director Farhan Akhtar today took to social media and wrote that the actor is someone whose talent and versatility he greatly admires. The 'Gully Boy' actor's name was not mentioned directly, though.
The director added that the 'Pathaan' actor enlivened 'Don' with his irresistible charm. The 'Jawan' actor, he wrote, embodied the character's "sardonic wit and menacing fury" through his acting. 'Don 3' is going to be a new interpretation, he added.
The success of 'Don 3' will offer a new grammar and narrative. A star hero filling the shoes of a superstar is an exciting idea. Imagine someone like Vijay Deverakonda doing 'Pushpa 3'. Bollywood would be leading the way if 'Don 3' becomes a commercial hit.
