'Shatamanam Bhavathi' director Satish Vegesna tasted a mega-hit in 2017 with the Sharwanand-Anupama Parameswaran movie. The family entertainer went on to mint huge money for Dil Raju and even won a National Award. However, its director, Satish Vegesna, has been one of the least sought-after directors since then.
In the following year, Satish's 'Srinivasa Kalyanam' turned out to be a massive flop (for distributors) although it was a safe project for its producer. The disaster gave a sour experience to its hero, Nithiin.
After the setback, Satish couldn't recover. The pandemic delivered a body blow to his career. He then announced a film titled 'Kotha Komachi' with newcomers since established actors didn't show keenness to work with him. The project got shelved midway. Then he started 'Sri Sri Rajavaru' with Jr NTR's brother-in-law Narne Nithin. Even this project had to be shelved temporarily.
Left with no option, Saitsh became a producer to make 'Kathakeli'. The film's teaser was released on Sunday. Speaking on the occasion, the director-cum-producer said that he took inspiration from his 'guru', Late EVV Satyanarayana, who too became a producer when established heroes and producers were not keen on collaborating with him.
In short, Satish's career depends entirely on the fate of 'Kathakeli'.
