A few days back, the makers of 'Rangabali' brought out a promotional video in which comedian Satya was seen spoofing a senior journalist-cum-media proprietor, a senior cine journalist, producer-distributor-publisher Suresh Kondeti, independent journo Jaffar (formerly associated with TV9), and TV9's Devi Nagavalli. The promo of the interview went viral.
To this day, the makers haven't put out the full interview. As per some unverified reports circulating in the media, the makers have censored themselves. They have decided not to release the full interview.
It's rumoured that two of the journalists who were parodied by Satya compelled the makers to withdraw the review.
If true, the Telugu journalists have brought disrepute to the whole media fraternity. There can't be a bigger irony in life than the media showing intolerance for satire.
Journalists, especially political journalists, think they have the right to judge everyone, including the RAW chief, the ISRO scientist, the US President and the Indian Army. But when they are judged, they get upset. They put out self-important tweets and belittle the intelligence of others. Their sense of entitlement and their limitless hypocrisy has what made millions of ordinary people ditch mainstream media and take recourse to social media in recent years.
