'Tholi Prema' is up for re-release this Friday (June 30). Karunakaran, its director, is busy promoting the movie by giving interviews.
In an interview, the director revealed that Amitabh Bachchan was so involved while watching the movie's climax that he hurled a bunch of keys at the screen due to excessive anxiety. "In the climax, the audience's focus is on whether the male lead manages to confess his love as he runs out of time. Amitabh ji was so tensed that he literally threw his keys at the screen. Once the female lead confesses her love out of the blue, he and Jaya Bachchan ji heaved a sign of relief. Amitabh ji himself narrated the incident to me when I once went to Mumbai," the director said.
The climax of the movie is one of the major reasons why the film became a blockbuster. To this day, it remains unbeaten in terms of emotional impact.
'Tholi Prema', starring Keerthy Reddy as the heroine and Vasuki as the hero's sister, is considered a classic. Its re-release is expected to become a hit.
