Social activist files a complaint against Vijay's 'Leo'

'Leo', starring Thalapathy Vijay in the lead, will hit the screens for Dasara. The other day, its first song, 'Naa Ready', was released. Some visuals in the song apparently glorify substance abuse.

A Chennai-based social activist named RTI Selvam has lodged a complaint against the 'Beast' actor, saying that the actor is promoting the use of drugs through the song. He also named the core team of 'Leo' in his complaint, arguing that the film attempts to normalize Rowdyism. The complaint was filed online on June 25.

The activist wants provisions of the Narcotics Control Act to be invoked against 'Leo'.

Recently, Vijay was in the news over the rumour that he intends to quit acting after his film with Vikram Prabhu. He wants to enter politics in 2026, social media users are predicting. But the 'Bigil' actor won't be a full-time politician anytime soon. There is this suspicion that his rivals want to portray him as an irresponsible actor by lodging flimsy petitions and complaints against his onscreen roles and movies. These will be leveraged against him when he enters politics in the future.
