Earlier today, former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag took a dig at 'Adipurush' in a lighter vein. He wrote that, upon watching the movie, he got to understand why Katappa backstabbed Baahubali. "Adipurush dekhkar pata chala Katappa ne Bahubali ko kyun maara tha (sic)," Sehwag wrote. Perhaps, the tweet is based on a viral post circulating on WhatsApp.
Prabhas' fans felt that Sehwag should be insulted for making fun of Prabhas. Several blue-tick handles have trolled 'Adipurush' but Sehwag's tweet came across as an indictment of Prabhas' acting.
They shared several memes to belittle Sehwag, making fun of his occasional failures on the crease when he used to play for Team India. The most absurd posts spoke of how Sehwag's highest run-scoring feat was 319, whereas the first weekend collections of 'Adipurush' stood at Rs 347 Cr despite negative 'word of mouth'.
At the time of writing this piece, the tweet garnered 1.7 million views. The humongous reach of Sehwag's tweet goes to show the extent to which Prabhas' fans are giving it wide publicity.
